ten tempo

nasturtiums embraced decomposing stoop. she carefully crept over soft planks. french doors hung open. trees in green saris conducted secret dance.

she rearranged paint chips with her toe. so many lost stories.
umber buckled upon hard wood. shafts of light exposed the unsettled.

who had faced it lazily or pained?

brick fireplace yearned to tell. she heard music in frame and spun gracefully. foundation was sinking. avenue of possibility crossed boulevard of abandonment.

voices mumbled in walls. the lace dress rustled. she climbed upon roof for air. he met her there.

trees continued to gyrate. imprint was indelible.

he held herb in his hand.

she swallowed earth & fungus that tasted of a forgotten home.

nine lives

their faces press against glass like morbid flowers

she could jump the deck to her death
she could face it spot on

this is when she started inventing her name

there was a pool, dance hall, bunk bed, porthole

her cat cringed in a cage

how many lies had she uttered in that passage?
what was real?

she was neither here nor there

a ferry is both vehicle and creature

the sea was her sister

all that had once been was lost once land locked

eight elven

who crouches in dank cellar of earth and stone?

he presses eye against gap in rotting door

sun ray falls on dusky midnight and turns to moon

urns and baskets line long space

against far wall queen of siam is poised on throne
languid children lie at her feet

her blue green eyes flash :: regal imprints burn in

she guards veil to the unknown
veil upon veil

she dares and she disciplines
who could stand up to such demeanor?
a toddler faced with such choice might spend his life
trying to decipher the myth

seven secrets

in chamber of fleshy colored tile are eight shower heads

girls stand in cones of moisture
their youthful limbs sliding through steam

plumes of laughter and gossip rise to damp ceiling

some stand silent under tropical storms

she considers the demonization of the shower and feels fortunate

there is a fine line between hot water therapy and burning

she keeps nudging the control

one of these days she might pay for her discontent

six sense

there are two tall windows

shape shifters interchange robes of dawn for midnight

ceilings are high and edged in victorian molding

cherubs have seen rape, murder, deceit, mourning

sound waves enter the frame

no wonder this one will fall
it is so fraught with terror and lies
